Small wording changes do not make a scam safe. Open the closest match, then verify the real company or agency through a number, app, bill, or website you find yourself.

Small fee, payment link, and threat of added penalties or license trouble.
Text message“BMV will suspend your license”
A short deadline and a link to avoid a driving or registration penalty.

A small redelivery fee or address form meant to take card details.

A familiar bank name followed by a request for a code, link, or transfer.

A surprise utility threat demanding gift cards, crypto, or quick payment.
Phone call“You missed jury duty”
A fake court or sheriff threat that demands payment to stop an arrest.
Phone call“Your grandchild needs money”
