What we keep, and why.

A security organization should be able to explain its own handling of your information in one page. Here it is.

This website

protectindiana.org sets no cookies, runs no advertising, and includes no third-party trackers or analytics. Our web server keeps ordinary technical logs (the address a request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser type) for a short period to keep the site running and detect abuse; they are not used to profile visitors.

When you write to us

The contact form sends us your name, email address, and whatever else you choose to enter (phone, city, and your message). We use it for one purpose: to reply to you and to carry out whatever you asked for. It is stored on a server we operate ourselves, in the United States, and in our email. We do not sell it, rent it, share it with advertisers, or add you to a mailing list. We do not record your IP address with your form submission.

Please do not send passwords, account numbers, or codes through the form or by email. During a checkup you type your own passwords; we do not see, record, or keep them.

Deletion

Write to hello@protectindiana.org and ask; we will delete what we hold about you and confirm when it is done. Where a record must be kept for a paid engagement (an invoice, for example), we will say what is kept and why.

Children

The site and our services are for adults and for households; we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
