Take a picture. Get a plain answer.
Upload a screenshot of a suspicious text or email. Your picture stays on your phone or computer. We read the words there, remove likely personal details, and check only the redacted text.
Choose the screenshot
A clear screenshot works best. You can also photograph a letter or computer screen.
Nothing is uploaded until you choose a picture. Even then, the picture stays on this device.
Check the words we read
Fix anything the picture reader got wrong. Remove any detail you do not want checked.
The redacted words are sent to Protect Indiana's AI scam checker. AI can make mistakes. Never use a link or phone number from a suspicious message just because a tool says it looks safe.
Scam pictures are hard to search. Words are not.
When several visitors send the same redacted scam wording, Protect Indiana can create a public warning page. That lets another family find the answer by searching the message itself. A page is not published from one report.
